Cheerio!

As we all know there is a HUGE wedding coming up! PRINCE WILLIAM OF ENGLAND AND KATE MIDDLETON! I don't know about you, but when I was a little girl growing up I always dreamed about being a princess. And that is exactly what Kate gets to be, a real life princess, and one next in line to be Queen at that! So in the royal wedding spirit, here's some awesome ideas and photos of what to do to make your wedding a royal affair! Enjoy!!

1. Weddings are supposed to be the ending to a wonderful fairy tale love. When you think of royalty you probably think of castles, but since we are short on castles on this side of the pond, find a fun old looking building. This manor is absolutely gorgeous and it made for killer pictures!

2. Keep traditions! The royals love their traditions! Did you know that when Princess Diana got married her ivy bouquet was from cuttings of a plant that Queen Victoria herself planted?! Think about duplicating your mother or grandmother's bouquet! It's the little things like that which can make your wedding day that much more meaningful and it's something you'll remember forever and hopefully pass down for years to come!

3. Play traditional wedding music! Classical music makes you feel so much more regal! Try composers Felix Mendelssohn or Richard Wagner. That will definitely set the tone for a truly royal wedding.

4. Host multiple days of celebration. A royal wedding would not be complete without a full weekend itinerary of welcome parties, rehearsal dinner, brunches and cocktail parties. This is a great way for everyone to get to know each other before the big day and will make your wedding feel like the huge event it should.

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord"

Every person goes through that time in their life where they have to make  a real decision about what they want to be when they grow up. For me that was easy, my whole life I wanted to be a teacher. I would play school with my little brother growing up, I made all my dolls sit and listen to me for hours about how to add, and anytime my teacher in school needed help grading I was always the first with my hand up. So when college came around Early Childhood Education was TOTALLY for me. About 2 semesters into college though, I realized how harsh and how much paperwork is actually involved with being a teacher, so decided to change my major to something more broad but at the same time leaving my options open with teaching. So I changed my major to history, and I LOVE it. I started thinking about Law School, because if you know me, I you know most times I have an opinion about something and I usually make it known pretty well what that opinion is.
I met Zach when I was a sophomore in high school. We dated for a little while, then went our own way for about four years. We met back up again the summer after my freshmen year in college and we decided to try dating again. We hit it off and in January of 2010 he asked me to marry him,  I immediately started planning and making decisions. I’m not usually one to sit around and do things last minute.  I hate being late, and I hate when stuff isn’t where it is supposed to be. I wouldn’t say I’m O.C.D. but I definitely have O.C.D. tendencies. With that being said I completely immersed myself in the wedding planning world. I would sit on wedding blogs for hours on end and I loved watching what other people did with their weddings to make it their own. I love organizing things, and I absolutely love arts and crafts and making sure everything is in its right place. It finally dawned on me that all of these passions, and even the frustrating tendencies, all point to one profession. It’s as if the road had been paved before me all along…I just hadn’t opened my eyes to see it.
I plan on finishing my history degree and graduating and then jumping head first into my own wedding/event planning business.  I’m a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants and I plan on taking classes with them while I’m still in school so once I’m out I’ll be completely ready. I’ve named by business RS Weddings and Events, and I can’t wait to get started!
